Automatically hide the menu panel

If the menu panel is in your way or if you regularly work with full-screen applications or use Split View, you can hide the menu panel and show it just when you need it by moving the pointer to the panel’s position on the side of the screen.

Here are ways to automatically hide the menu panel:

  • Open the Application Wizard pane in System Preferences, click General, and select the ”Automatically show and hide panel” checkbox.

  • Control-click the panel’s background and choose Turn Hiding On from the shortcut menu.
